We Are Moving The Needle’s Fix The Mix: Career Workshops connects students and early-career professionals with leaders across the music industry for mentorship and career development. This series provides concrete growth opportunities for pursuing a career in audio and equips creators with the knowledge, skills, and tools for success. Sessions cover a range of topics from masterclasses on production, engineering, mixing and songwriting to career-building skills, including resume development and professional outreach. We Are Moving The Needle’s speakers and mentors draw from expertise across the music industry: from pop to metal, film to games, sync, A&R, management, marketing, artist relations, and more. Join us to gain invaluable insights, forge meaningful connections, and empower yourself to navigate and thrive in the ever-evolving world of music and audio. This webinar is open to students from We Are Moving The Needle’s College and University Chapters and Scholarship Alumni.


Fresh off a Grammy nomination for her work with The Knocks and Dragonette, Ali Willa Milner found herself part of six Juno nominations and was nominated for Billboard Canada's Non-Performing Songwriter Of The Year for her work 2024. She was also nominated for the Canadian Songwriters Hall Of Fame's Breakthrough Songwriter Award in 2024. Her songwriting led to the aforementioned Juno nominations with Reve, Katie Tupper, and multiple nominations for Aysanabee who won two; including Songwriter Of The Year. Her original songs were also featured in national and international advertising campaigns for Kia, Tinder, TSN, and more and her most recent single was selected as a feature track in Apple+’s Eva Longoria-led Land Of Women. Ali also has a focus on mentoring upcoming songwriters and co-hosted a song camp with SNGL and SheWrites; an organization focused on connecting and championing female, non-binary, and trans songwriters and producers.
