We Are Moving The Needle seeks dynamic and driven student interns to support core functions across the organization and gain valuable experience with a leading equity non-profit in the music industry. Internships are available for part-time in spring and fall semesters, and full-time summer positions. Students must be available a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Internships provide opportunities to gain experience across a range of We Are Moving The Needle’s core functions including: 
Social Media and Marketing

  • Assisting content development across social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, etc. including gathering content for reposts and amplification from our We Are Moving The Needle community, supporting asset creation and prep work for social media posts. 

  • Assist with building of monthly newsletter posts and special announcements. 

  • Support the maintenance of Mailchimp marketing lists and data health. 

  • Assist in the development of collateral materials for partnerships and programs from slide decks to web development.

Programming

  • Work with the Director of Partnerships and Programs and the Programs and Communications Assistant to develop program materials for We Are Moving The Needle’s College and University Chapters, Scholarship Alumni, and early-career community. Conduct research on peer organization’s programming, provide student perspective, survey constituents, etc. 

  • Support upkeep of We Are Moving The Needle’s mentor and speaker database. 

  • Provide administrative support for creator database.

Research 

  • Assist research and data compilation related to Fix The Mix Report and annual metrics, including metadata tagging, credits scrubbing, and more. 

  • Support surveying and tracking of metrics related to We Are Moving The Needle’s impact, including annual scholarship alumni survey, event metrics, mentorship metrics, etc. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Enrollment or recent completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in music, audio production / engineering, non-profit arts administration, or related field.

  • Passion and commitment to growing expertise in the non-profit sector, social impact, or music business. Please note: this role does not include studio development or training opportunities in audio.

  • Superior time management and multi-tasking skills.

  • Fast learner, not afraid to ask questions and provide ideas. 

  • Proficiency in Google Suites and Microsoft Office. 

  • Experience with Squarespace, Mailchimp and Tableau is a plus.

This is a fully remote position working from anywhere within the United States. School credit is available for relevant programs.
