We are excited to announce a new scholarship opportunity with pointblank Music School in Los Angeles, California to offer 2 full scholarships to any of the upcoming year-long Music Production programs!

💡 Location: pointblank campus in Los Angeles, California

**Final notifications will be sent December 2, 2024. Awardees must be local to the Los Angeles area or prepared to relocate in advance of the January 13 program start date.

💡 Program Details:
This is a year-long program with a January start date. Classes are held for 4 hours, three days a week, across four terms. Daytime, evening and weekend class sessions are available.
pointblank Music School is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and licensed in the State of California by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE).

Additionally, each scholarship recipient will be paired with a mentor from We Are Moving The Needle’s world-class network of mentors.

💡 Scholarship Requirements:

  • We Are Moving The Needle is proud to offer two (2) scholarships total for this year’s program.  

  • We Are Moving The Needle scholarships are open to women, non-binary, and trans individuals with an emphasis on those with a demonstrated commitment to production and engineering.

  • Scholarships cover full tuition costs of the program, however students will be responsible for room and board during program duration. Applicants should be prepared to be in-residence in commuting distance from Los Angeles for the program. Additional gear scholarships and equipment support may be available on a case-by-case basis.

  • Students seeking to enter one of the four diploma programs are required to complete the pointblank Diploma Program Entrance Evaluation. This includes two music content submissions which must be provided as URL links to downloadable files (hosted on a cloud server such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer) of original musical tracks you have created as the sole music producer. Each track must be at least 2 minutes in length and in a standard audio format of WAV, AIF, or MP.

  • Scholarship applicants will be reviewed for:
    1) Experience and preparedness for pointblank Music School’s program;
    2) Production proficiency and/or artistic vision;
    3) Work ethic and demonstrated commitment to work in a field that would benefit from this opportunity;
    4) Alignment with We Are Moving The Needle’s scholarship qualifications (stated above) and the WAMTN Community.

  • Applicants should aim to write between 250 and 500 words for each application question. We recommend applicants provide a variety of work samples demonstrating their experience in studio engineering, particularly projects produced or engineered for clients or collaborators.

  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in an interview on or around Friday, November 22, 2024.
